I left Merlin in his crate at the show place on Saturday as I went shopping a little. When I got back, one door of the crate was open (two latches opened and the door pushed wide open) and one of the two latches on the other door of the crate was also opened.
Merlin was lying in the crate peacefully with no worries, in no rush to go anywhere. I guess he must have opened the doors and latches just... because he can?

I was really startled - this year's biggest dog show in Europe is NOT the place to go out for adventure... But that's the point - he is in no need to go anywhere - he doesn't open doors, gates, locks and break out of fences to go somewhere. I just don't get it but maybe there is some bigger meaning in it that I just don't see. Sigh.

When we went for coffee after judging in the show on Sunday I had to make some special arrangements... Although I was quite sure that when I got back to the crate I'd find the doors open again and the leashes neatly folded on the floor next to it (locks detached of course)! :-D
